Success! The bride arrived for her final fitting and with much fiddling around with safety pins I managed to get the long train all tucked up underneath with 3 pick up points (button and loops) and 2 smaller ones to pull the remaining bits I call the “dog ears” that can hang down and touch the floor. Since the wedding and reception are outdoors and the dress is loaned she wants to make sure that none of it touches the ground. Fortunately the back of the dress has princess seams which can handle the weight of the train when attached with loops to buttons sewn to the lining. The dog ears have their own special pearl buttons on the outside hidden in the lace motifs. The overall effect is multi-layered but practical.
